For this pathetic claim, the writer presents a verse which is completely out of context.
God forgiveth what is past; but whoever doth it again, God will take vengeance on him." (5: 96.)
[005:095] O ye who believe! Kill not game while in the sacred precincts or in pilgrim garb. If any of you doth so intentionally, the compensation is an offering, brought to the Ka'ba, of a domestic animal equivalent to the one he killed, as adjudged by two just men among you; or by way of atonement, the feeding of the indigent; or its equivalent in fasts: that he may taste of the penalty of his deed. God forgives what is past: for repetition God will exact from him the penalty. For God is Exalted, and Lord of Retribution.
The verse presented by the writer was not just out of context, it was not complete as well. This verse is referring to the past particular misdeeds of the Arabs. It is some deed in particular in the days of ignorance and not any deed in general. The time is most important here. Unfortunately, the writer has broken his own plea and has shown closed-mindedness in the name of positive criticism.
