Introduction

The original article to which the rebuttal is attributed to can be found here:
http://www.aryasamajjamnagar.org/chapterfourteen.htm#00

The writer of the article starts with an introduction that is so very well planned that one might have trouble later on. It is not well planned in terms of being good but in terms of being filled with tricks. One line in the article reads as follows:

Anyone questioning the accuracy of our translation should first prove the translation done by those Mohammedan scholars to be incorrect before sitting down to find faulty with us.

If we notice this statement with a little care, we see deliberate tricks being played. How can the translation be as good as the original? The Quran is considered to be the best book in Arabic language and to say that such a book can be translated accurately is a very foolish belief. Let alone Quran, no book in any language can be translated 100% correctly. Open-minded reads must accept this fact and must accept the explanations given for each mistake identified only if it is well explained with references and logic.

The writer(s) of the original criticism on the Quran then go on to say that we must be open to learning and positive criticism. This is an accepted fact and this rebuttal will go ahead with this message in mind.

Before continuing on with the article, I would like to say that everything good in it is from Allah and all mistakes are mine, after all I am a human being. I would also like to thank the writer for increasing my knowledge and faith in Islam.

Before continuing with the rebuttal, I would like to bring a few points to the attention of the readers. If these rules are followed for context, then no allegation would be raised against the Quran.

Muslims and non-Muslims can have several problems with the Quran if read out of context. Many Islam haters attempt to deceive people by quoting out of context and in a manner that suits their Satanic desires.

This article attempts to put forward some rules that should be kept in mind by the readers and especially the ones who lay allegations and if they have these in mind, they wouldn’t make any allegation on the Quran but accept the beauty and greatness of the Quran and if they are open-minded, accept the truth!

Rule 1: Minor Context

This is one of the basic rules that are broken by Islam haters. The reader of the Quran would never be bothered with this trick but a person who has never read the Quran can be deceived by this trick. The verse that should be presented should be full without any dots in the beginning, middle or end.

This basic rule has been broken by Answering-Islam several times, for example, in the below link Sam Shamoun tells us Muslims to not say three;

http://www.answering-christianity.com/adeel_khan/Rebuttal_to_Sam_Shamou4.htm

He quotes the verse as,

... So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for you! ... S. 4:171 Pickthall
whereas the full verse without the dots reads as,

[4.171] O followers of the Book! do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak (lies) against Allah, but (speak) the truth; the Messiah, Isa son of Marium is only an apostle of Allah and His Word which He communicated to Marium and a spirit from Him; believe therefore in Allah and His apostles, and say not, Three. Desist, it is better for you; Allah is only one God; far be It from His glory that He should have a son, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His, and Allah is sufficient for a Protector.

When one reads without the trick of dots, one finds that there is no problem at all; the only problem is with the accuser.

Rule 2: The medium context

This is the second rule that must be followed and if a problem arises, then an anti Islamic can make an allegation about the message of the verse. Verses should be seen with several previous and later verses than the one in which an allegation is made.

Note: This is only for the message of the Quran and not the story.

For example, one of the favorite verses of the truth haters is as follows;

And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.

If the verse is read out of context (the second rule), then it would appear that the message or the teaching of the Quran is cruel but the second rule should be applied here which is that ‘previous and later verses should be seen with the verse as well’.

002.190YUSUFALI: Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.

The context shows that there is nothing wrong with this verse, instead it is a great verse that has solutions to many problems.

Rule 3: The ultimate context

In the Quran, we find that many stories have been repeated but if we examine them in detail we see that they are a beautiful style of expression. We must remember that there is no absolute repetition in the Quran. Whenever a story is repeated, God Almighty tells something new to us.
This can also be seen with examples from the Quran.

History tells us that crucifixion was adopted several years later than the Pharaoh who oppressed the Israelites but the Quran tells us that Pharoah threatened Prophet Moosa [Moses (peace be upon him)] with crucifixion.

I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then will I crucify you all together. [Surah 7:124]
Said he: You believe in him before I give you permission; most surely he is the chief of you who taught you the magic, so you shall know: certainly I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and certainly I will crucify you all. [Surah 26:49]
There seems to be some problem here!
No, there is no problem at all. If we follow the third rule, we will see the truth. The third context is that wherever this story has been mentioned, it should be seen again.

He said, "Did you believe in him without my permission? He must be your chief; the one who taught you magic. I will surely sever your hands and feet on alternate sides. I will crucify you on the palm trunks. You will find out which of us can inflict the worst retribution, and who outlasts whom."
(20:71)

This final rule shows that Pharaoh threatened to hang Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) on palm trunks. If this had been posted with the allegation laid down by Answering-Islam, they would have been embarrassed.
The Arabic word Salabu means to put to crucify whether the person dies or survives, whereas the English word Crucifixion means to put on the cross and death to the person on the cross. There is no word for a person who survives the cross.

There are several more examples that have not been mentioned such as the mentioning of Satan to be Jinn.

Rule 4: The Final context

This is the final rule for reading the Quran. If you do not understand the word of God (Quran) in any place, the best thing to do is to ask the man who has transmitted to us the word of God, i.e. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). For that too care must be taken to not use or fall into the tricks of blind haters. What haters do is that they quote the responsibilities of women towards men and do not give the responsibilities of men towards women which incorrectly makes Islam appear to be a discriminatory religion.

If all of the above rules are considered when reading the Quran, then not a single allegation would be made on the Quran.

A word to the seeker of truth

The first few contents relate to the readers in general terms and commenting on that is not much of benefit, neither to me nor to the readers. However, some points of allegations have been raised and these need to be answered where they arise.

In this section, the writer has argued that the Quran starts with the statement

"(I begin this book) In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful." (1*:1.)

The writer argues that this is written by someone other than God as God would not say His own name before starting anything. This appears to be a valid claim and it is our duty as Muslims to enlighten the non-Muslims on this issue. Insha’Allah when the explanation will be given below, the readers would say that it is accurate and makes sense.

This Surah is called Al-Fatihah, that is, the Opener of the Book, the Surah with which prayers are begun. It is also called, Umm Al-Kitab (the Mother of the Book), according to the majority of the scholars. In an authentic Hadith recorded by At-Tirmidhi, who graded it Sahih, Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said,
«الْحَمْدُ للهِ رَبَ الْعَالَمِينَ أُمُّ الْقُرْآنِ وَأُمُّ الْكِتَابِ وَالسَّبْعُ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنُ الْعَظِيمُ»
(Al-Hamdu lillahi Rabbil-`Alamin is the Mother of the Qur'an, the Mother of the Book, and the seven repeated Ayat of the Glorious Qur'an.)
It is also called Al-Hamd and As-Salah, because the Prophet said that his Lord said,
«قَسَمْتُ الصَّلَاةَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ عَبْدِي نِصْفَيْنِ، فَإِذَا قَالَ الْعَبْدُ:الْحَمْدُدِلله رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، قَالَ اللهُ: حَمِدَنِي عَبْدِي»
(`The prayer (i.e., Al-Fatihah) is divided into two halves between Me and My servants.' When the servant says, `All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of existence,' Allah says, 'My servant has praised Me.')
Al-Fatihah was called the Salah, because reciting it is a condition for the correctness of Salah - the prayer. Al-Fatihah was also called Ash-Shifa' (the Cure).
Fatiha is a prayer that was taught by Allah to the Prophet who taught it to the Muslims.

The writer then goes to criticize the Muslims for killing animals. He obviously appears to be a vegetarian. If he himself is a non-vegetarian, then it is pure hypocrisy. This is a very long debate and will be answered with a link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8dvziFT5ME&feature=related

Please see it with an open mind and decide for yourself.

A Hindu has made the following objections:

Now, Why wud God ask prophet to sing a prayer to him? God told mohammad to say thisIn the name of God, the Compassionate, the MercifulPraise be to Allah, Lord of the WorldsThe Beneficent, the Merciful.Master of the Day of Judgment, Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. Show us the straight path, The path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astrayNow will this all praise can make God happy? Is God unaware of his power so that he ask human to sing his glory?Prayer are said by devotee to his God not bu God to God!!!Its as ridiculous as anything!!!!!

This is not a prayer that praises God alone but is a guidance for the people. We say what we are supposed to and our Creator has the highest right to our respect. You might say that this is common sense and we do not need God saying this to us. This is a good argument but yet we see people not praising God! God is above pride or arrogance and orders are orders eben if they seem arrogant. This fact is explained is straight words by God but still people disobey and disrespect God.

This prayer is for us which God has taught us humans. In Islam, worshipping God is on His terms and not on our terms and so this is for that.

God is not shy (2:26) and God does not shy away from any important teaching. This is arrogance for some but it is making things clear for the Muslims. Any matter not explained well may give an incorrect impression of God and therefore, this plain truth in plain terms is required.

Intolerance towards non-Muslims

The writer has criticized the Quran for being intolerant towards non-Muslims but has not provided a single verse for that. He says that the Quran is intolerant towards non-Muslims and animals. The part on animals has been answered above in the video link and the part on intolerance towards non-Muslims will be answered below. The accuser has not provided any verse and so it would be justified if I leave this argument as it is but it will not be done. As a Muslim, it has presented me an opportunity for Dawaa which I will do Insha’Allah.

“We have honored the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favors, above a great part of Our creation.” (Quran 17:70)

“O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (and not hate one another). Surely, the most honored of you in the sight of God is (he who) is the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).” (Quran 49:13)

The Messenger of God declared in his farewell sermon, addressing the largest gathering in Arab history till that point:
“People, hear that your Lord is One, and that your father is one. You must know that no Arab has superiority over a non-Arab, no non-Arab has superiority over an Arab, or a red man over a black man, or a black man over a red, except in terms of what each person has of piety. Have I delivered the message?”

Is that not very beautiful? There are hundreds of other verses in the Quran that speak of this beautiful right of equality and much more.
Muslims are even prohibited to say anything wrong against the gods of others;
“Do not revile those whom they call upon besides God, lest they revile God out of spite in their ignorance. Thus, We have made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord and He shall then tell them the truth of what they did.” (Quran 6:108)

A Hindu reader has argued:

Ohh...u need verseSo travel freely (O Mushrikun - see V.2:105) for four months (as you will) throughout the land, but know that you cannot escape (from the Punishment of) Allah, and Allah will disgrace the disbelievers. 9:2Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 9:5And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do. 8:39There r thousand of such verse!!!! Mohammad himself killed the idol worshiper of Kaaba...calling them infidel...and captured tht place...n the link talk bout equality !!!

2:105 - Those who disbelieve from among the followers of the Book do not like, nor do the polytheists, that the good should be sent down to you from your Lord, and Allah chooses especially whom He pleases for His mercy, and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace.

As for 9:2, it is very simple and needs no explanation. It is not about you but about the pagans of Makkah. It is not a general verse but is on specif group of people namely the Makkan pagans.

[9.1](This is a declaration of) immunity by Allah and His Apostle towards those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement.
[9.2] So go about in the land for four months and know that you cannot weaken Allah and that Allah will bring disgrace to the unbelievers.

The context shows the real picture. Please do not apply it to yourself because it is not about you!

9:5 is also related to context, not just verses back but read forward as well:

[9.4] Except those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement, then they have not failed you in anything and have not backed up any one against you, so fulfill their agreement to the end of their term; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty).

[9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

[9.6] And if one of the idolaters seek protection from you, grant him protection till he hears the word of Allah, then make him attain his place of safety; this is because they are a people who do not know.

Please see the beauty in the bold and red parts!

8:39 is another context related matter:
[8.38] Say to those who disbelieve, if they desist (from oppressing Muslims), that which is past shall be forgiven to them (their wars against Muslims); and if they return, then what happened to the ancients has already passed.

[8.39] And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah; but if they desist, then surely Allah sees what they do.

The disbelievers are the pagan Makkans in particular and not all non-Muslims in general.

Similarly, if people start reading Mahabharat out of context and start making judgments on that false understanding out of context, then there would be similar problems people have with the Quran.

Day of Judgment

In this point, the writer accuses the Quran in terms of the day of judgment and argues that the judgment is also in this world and waiting for judgment in the end is senseless. The writer wouldn’t have made such useless comments if he had posted all the verses related to this matter. He obviously does not care about the context related issues. Two verses are posted below which will be sufficient to disprove the point of the writer.

[003:145] No soul can die except by Allah’s leave, and at a preordained time. We will bestow (the benefits) here (in this world) upon anyone who wants (the results and) rewards (of his effort) in this world. We will bestow (the benefits and the rewards) there (in the hereafter) upon anyone who desires the reward in the life after death. Soon, We will reward the grateful ones!

[003:185] Every soul shall have to taste death! The day of Resurrection is when you (can and) shall receive your dues to the fullest extent _ (the consequence of your deeds). (That day), whoever is pulled away from hell, and is ushered into the paradise, will really have triumphed. The life of this world is (nothing but) an illusive enjoyment _ a (mere) deception.

Favor and disfavor of Allah

In this section, the writer has quoted the following verse
4. "The path of those whom Thou art incensed, nor of those who go astray." (1:6, 7.)
He criticizes this verse by saying that this shows God’s favoritism as He favors some and not others. This is a very poor argument and shows desperation. For some reason, the accuser wants to find a fault with each and every thing in the Quran. Even with things he agrees, he might not agree because of it being in the Quran. However, that is a separate issue and not the purpose of this article. The article will focus on refuting the false points.
The Meaning of As-Sirat Al-Mustaqim, the Straight Path.
As for the meaning of As-Sirat Al-Mustaqim, Imam Abu Ja`far At-Tabari said, "The Ummah agreed that Sirat Al-Mustaqim, is the clear path without branches, according to the language of the Arabs. For instance, Jarir bin `Atiyah Al-Khatafi said in a poem, `The Leader of the faithful is on a path that will remain straight even though the other paths are crooked.'' At-Tabari also stated that, "There are many evidences to this fact.'' At-Tabari then proceeded, "The Arabs use the term, Sirat in reference to every deed and statement whether righteous or wicked. Hence the Arabs would describe the honest person as being straight and the wicked person as being crooked. The straight path mentioned in the Qur'an refers to Islam.
Imam Ahmad recorded in his Musnad that An-Nawwas bin Sam`an said that the Prophet said,
(Allah has set an example: a Sirat (straight path) that is surrounded by two walls on both sides, with several open doors within the walls covered with curtains. There is a caller on the gate of the Sirat who heralds, 'O people! Stay on the path and do not deviate from it.' Meanwhile, a caller from above the path is also warning any person who wants to open any of these doors, 'Woe unto you! Do not open it, for if you open it you will pass through.' The straight path is Islam, the two walls are Allah's set limits, while the doors resemble what Allah has prohibited. The caller on the gate of the Sirat is the Book of Allah, while the caller above the Sirat is Allah's admonishment in the heart of every Muslim.)

The Faithful ask for and abide by Guidance
If someone asks, "Why does the believer ask Allah for guidance during every prayer and at other times, while he is already properly guided Has he not already acquired guidance''
The answer to these questions is that if it were not a fact that the believer needs to keep asking for guidance day and night, Allah would not have directed him to invoke Him to acquire the guidance. The servant needs Allah the Exalted every hour of his life to help him remain firm on the path of guidance and to make him even more firm and persistent on it. The servant does not have the power to benefit or harm himself, except by Allah's permission. Therefore, Allah directed the servant to invoke Him constantly, so that He provides him with His aid and with firmness and success. Indeed, the happy person is he whom Allah guides to ask of Him. This is especially the case if a person urgently needs Allah's help day or night. Allah said,
(O you who believe! Believe in Allah, and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and the Book (the Qur'an) which He has sent down to His Messenger, and the Scripture which He sent down to those before (him)) (4:16).
Therefore, in this Ayah Allah commanded the believers to believe, and this command is not redundant since what is sought here is firmness and continuity of performing the deeds that help one remain on the path of faith. Also, Allah commanded His believing servants to proclaim,
(Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.) (3:8). Hence,
(Guide us to the straight way) means, "Make us firm on the path of guidance and do not allow us to deviate from it.''
(7. The way of those upon whom You have bestowed Your grace, not (that) of those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray).
We mentioned the Hadith in which the servant proclaims,
(Guide us to the straight way) and Allah says, "This is for My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he asks for.'' Allah's statement.
(The way of those upon whom You have bestowed Your grace) defines the path. `Those upon whom Allah has bestowed His grace' are those mentioned in Surat An-Nisa' (chapter 4), when Allah said,
(And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad ), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allah has bestowed His grace, the Prophets, the Siddiqin (the truly faithful), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are! Such is the bounty from Allah, and Allah is sufficient to know) (4:69-70).
Allah's statement,
(Not (the way) of those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray) meaning guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom you have bestowed Your grace, that is, the people of guidance, sincerity and obedience to Allah and His Messengers. They are the people who adhere to Allah's commandments and refrain from committing what He has prohibited. But, help us to avoid the path of those whom Allah is angry with, whose intentions are corrupt, who know the truth, yet deviate from it. Also, help us avoid the path of those who were led astray, who lost the true knowledge and, as a result, are wandering in misguidance, unable to find the correct path. Allah asserted that the two paths He described here are both misguided when He repeated the negation `not'. These two paths are the paths of the Christians and Jews, a fact that the believer should beware of so that he avoids them. The path of the believers is knowledge of the truth and abiding by it. In comparison, the Jews abandoned practicing the religion, while the Christians lost the true knowledge. This is why `anger' descended upon the Jews, while being described as `led astray' is more appropriate of the Christians. Those who know, but avoid implementing the truth, deserve the anger, unlike those who are ignorant. The Christians want to seek the true knowledge, but are unable to find it because they did not seek it from its proper resources.
This is why they were led astray. We should also mention that both the Christians and the Jews have earned the anger and are led astray, but the anger is one of the attributes more particular of the Jews. Allah said about the Jews,
(Those (Jews) who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath) (5:60).
The attribute that the Christians deserve most is that of being led astray, just as Allah said about them,
(Who went astray before and who misled many, and strayed (themselves) from the right path) (5:77).
There are several Hadiths and reports from the Salaf on this subject. Imam Ahmad recorded that `Adi bin Hatim said, "The horsemen of the Messenger of Allah seized my paternal aunt and some other people. When they brought them to the Messenger of Allah , they were made to stand in line before him. My aunt said, `O Messenger of Allah! The supporter is far away, the offspring have stopped coming and I am an old woman, unable to serve. Grant me your favor, may Allah grant you His favor.' He said, `Who is your supporter' She said, `Adi bin Hatim.' He said, `The one who ran away from Allah and His Messenger' She said, `So, the Prophet freed me.' When the Prophet came back, there was a man next to him, I think that he was `Ali, who said to her, `Ask him for a means of transportation.' She asked the Prophet , and he ordered that she be given an animal.
'' `Adi then said, "Later on, she came to me and said, `He (Muhammad ) has done a favor that your father (who was a generous man) would never have done. So and-so person came to him and he granted him his favor, and so-and-so came to him and he granted him his favor.' So I went to the Prophet and found that some women and children were gathering with him, so close that I knew that he was not a king like Kisra (King of Persia) or Caesar. He said, `O `Adi! What made you run away, so that La ilaha illallah is not proclaimed Is there a deity worthy of worship except Allah What made you run away, so that Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greater) is not proclaimed Is there anything Greater than Allah' I proclaimed my Islam and I saw his face radiate with pleasure and he said:
«إِنَّ الْمَغْضُوبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْيَهُودُ وَ إِنَّ الضَّالِينَ النَّصَارَى»
(Those who have earned the anger are the Jews and those who are led astray are the Christians.)''
This Hadith was also collected by At-Tirmidhi who said that it is Hasan Gharib.
Also, when Zayd bin `Amr bin Nufayl went with some of his friends - before Islam - to Ash-Sham seeking the true religion, the Jews said to him, "You will not become a Jew unless you carry a share of the anger of Allah that we have earned.'' He said, "I am seeking to escape Allah's anger.'' Also, the Christians said to him, "If you become one of us you will carry a share in Allah's discontent.'' He said, "I cannot bear it.'' So he remained in his pure nature and avoided worshipping the idols and the polytheistic practices. He became neither a Jew, nor Christian. As for his companions, they became Christians because they found it more pure than Judaism. Waraqah bin Nawfal was among these people until Allah guided him by the hand of His Prophet, when he was sent as Prophet, and Waraqah believed in the revelation that was sent to the Prophet may Allah be pleased with him.

Allah said,
(The way of those upon whom you have bestowed Your grace), when He mentioned His favor. On mentioning anger, Allah said,
(Not (that) of those who earned Your anger), without mentioning the subject, although it is He Who has sent down the anger on them, just as Allah stated in another Ayah,
(Have you (O Muhammad ) not seen those (hypocrites) who take as friends a people upon whom is the wrath of Allah (i.e. Jews)) (58:14).
Also, Allah relates the misguidance of those who indulged in it, although they were justly misguided according to Allah's appointed destiny. For instance, Allah said,
(He whom Allah guides, he is the rightly-guided; but he whom He sends astray, for him you will find no Wali (guiding friend) to lead him (to the right path)) (18:17)
and,
(Whomsoever Allah sends astray, none can guide him; and He lets them wander blindly in their transgression) (7:186).
These and several other Ayat testify to the fact that Allah alone is the One Who guides and misguides, contrary to the belief of the Qadariyyah sect, who claimed that the servants choose and create their own destiny. They rely on some unclear Ayat avoiding what is clear and contradicts their desires. Theirs, is the method of the people who follow their lust, desire and wickedness. An authentic Hadith narrated,
«إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ فَأُولئِكَ الَّذِينَ سَمَّى اللهُ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ»
(When you see those who follow what is not so clear in it (the Qur'an), then they are those whom Allah has mentioned (refer to 3:7). Hence, avoid them.)
The Prophet was referring to Allah's statement,
(So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah (polytheism and trials), and seeking for its hidden meanings)(3:7).
Verily, no innovator in the religion could ever rely on any authentic evidence in the Qur'an that testifies to his innovation. The Qur'an came to distinguish between truth and falsehood, and guidance and misguidance. The Qur'an does not contain any discrepancies or contradictions, because it is a revelation from the Most Wise, Worthy of all praise.

I hope this will be sufficient to explain what this whole chapter is about. There is a lot more to say but the focus is on refuting the points and Alhamdulillah, that is done.
The accuser has also argued in this section that the Quran is partial because of being in Arabic. This is another amusing claim. The accuser also argues that Vedas is in such a language that every person has to make efforts to learn it while Quran required no efforts for the Arabs. For a better understanding of this point, one has to go to the Quran for the answers. The Bible also has the answer for it and both will be presented here.
Muhammad Ghounem has written a book and a page from that is posted below. It has verses from Quran and the Bible.
According to the Bible, { Genesis 11:1} humans all spoke one language at one time. These humanswere trying to build a tower to see God. God Warned them to cease building thetower, yet they disobeyed God and continued to build the Tower.
As a punishment for their disobedience, God cursed them by making them all speaka different language. This tower is now called the "Tower of Babylon." {Genesis11:19} and that is where we get the word "Babel"
The Holy Qur'an is their forgiveness, if the humans return to obeying God, thenthey are again united in a brotherhood and sisterhood of one Semitic language,Arabic.
This is astonishing since only 27% of the Muslims are Arabs and there are almost1.5 Billion Muslims world wide, all united with one language,praying in unison, re-united, this is also predicted in the Bible;
"For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent." {Zephaniah 3:9}
In the Strong's Bible Dictionary, the word "language (saphah)" in this verse can also mean [ side, edge, border]
Therefore, Zephaniah 3:9 can also be translated to read "I will TURN people to ONE direction" which we witness with Muslims all facing -East- to pray and also speaking one language in prayer, a language which non-Arabs describe as a "pure language"
World wide, over a billion people gather worshiping with one language, one direction, one book, one God.
Re-united as brothers and sisters in towards the Kabba which is believed to be directly under the Throne of God in Heaven.
The rich with the poor, the educated with the un-educated, people from all parts ofthe world re-united Obeying One God, Submitting their will to God which is themeaning of Islam.
""And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided." {Translation of the Holy Qur'an 3:103}
[012:002] Surely, We have revealed this Qur’an in Arabic so that you may understand!

[013:037] Thus, We have sent down this order in Arabic. After this revelation, if you allow any adjustment for their whims, you will find no rescuers or protectors against Allah.
[020:113] Thus, We revealed this Qur’an in Arabic. In it We have defined sharply the promises and the threats. Maybe they will fear (Allah), or it _ (the Qur’an) _ will bring back the remembrance (of Allah).

[026:195] It is in a plain and pristine Arabic language.

[026:198] Even if We had revealed this (Arabic Qur’an) upon a non-Arab,

[026:199] And even if that non-Arab was to recite it to them (in Arabic), they would still not believe.

[039:028] The Qur’an is in Arabic; (it is simple), without any distortion or deviation. Perhaps they will fear Him!
[041:044] Had We revealed (this Qur’an) in a non-Arabic language, they would have said, “Why are its verses not clear and understandable? What? A non-Arabic (discourse) and an Arabic (audience)?” Say to them, “For those who believe, this Qur’an is a guidance and a cure (for spiritual ailments). While, it is a plug for the ears and a blindfold for the eyes of those who do not believe. (It is, as if) they (barely) hear being summoned from a far off place.”
[043:003] Indeed, We have revealed this Qur’an in the Arabic language, so you may understand!

[046:012] Prior to this, the book of Musa was the guide and mercy. This book, (the Qur’an) is in the Arabic language and it confirms and validates (the book of Musa). It warns those committing evil, and gives the good news to the righteous.

The claim that Vedas are in a language neutral to all is a poor and an ill knowledged one. It was the language of the people at one time but they have abandoned it. If people change, then it is their own doing.

Arrogance of Allah praising his own book

One does not need to read the argument of the writer to see what is in it. The name suggests all. For this claim, the writer has given the following verse:
"There is no doubt in this book,; it is a direction to the pious who believed in the mysteries of faith, who observe the appointed times of prayer, and distribute alms out of what we have bestowed on them; and who believed in that revelation, which hath been sent down unto thee, and hat which hath been sent down unto the prophets before thee, and have firm assurance in the life to come: these are directed by their Lord and they shall prosper. As for the unbelievers it will be equal to them whether thou admonish them, or do not admonish them; they will not believe - God hat sealed up their hearts and their hearing; a dimness covereth their sight and they shall suffer a grievous punishment." (2: 1 - 6)
There is no Doubt in the Qur'an
The Book, is the Qur'an, and Rayb means doubt. As-Suddi said that Abu Malik and Abu Salih narrated from Ibn `Abbas, and Murrah Al-Hamadani narrated from Ibn Mas`ud and several other Companions of the Messenger of Allah that,
(In which there is no Rayb), means about which there is no doubt. Abu Ad-Darda', Ibn `Abbas, Mujahid, Sa`id bin Jubayr, Abu Malik, Nafi` `Ata', Abu Al-`Aliyah, Ar-Rabi` bin Anas, Muqatil bin Hayyan, As-Suddi, Qatadah and Isma`il bin Abi Khalid said similarly. In addition, Ibn Abi Hatim said, "I do not know of any disagreement over this explanation.'' The meaning of this is that the Book, the Qur'an, is without a doubt revealed from Allah. Similarly, Allah said in Surat As- Sajdah,
(Alif Lam Mim). The revelation of the Book (this Qur'an) in which there is no doubt, is from the Lord of all that exists) (32:1-2).
Some scholars stated that this Ayah - 2:2 - contains a prohibition meaning, "Do not doubt the Qur'an.'' Furthermore, some of the reciters of the Qur'an pause upon reading,
(there is no doubt) and they then continue;
(in which there is guidance for the Muttaqin (the pious and righteous persons)). However, it is better to pause at,
(in which there is no doubt) because in this case,
(guidance) becomes an attribute of the Qur'an and carries a better meaning than,
(in which there is guidance).

People have a different perception of the same God. One might, out of complete ignorance, say that God is not perfect and can make mistakes. For such people, Allah has clearly said that there is no doubt in it. There is a very small group in the Muslims who say that the Quran is not perfect and there was one very minor group that alleged that it was man-made. For such people, Allah says that there is no doubt in it at all. If the accuser sees this as arrogance, it is his own view but to others it is an assurance.
In this section, the writer also argues the need for Quran since there is the Bible. This is a very long debate and I would recommend the following site:

Allah’s actions more devilish than godly

"There is an infirmity in their hearts and God hath increased that infirmity." (2: 9.)
Meaning of `Leaves them increasing in their deviation to wander blindly
Allah said,
(Allah mocks at them and leaves them increasing in their deviation to wander blindly). As-Suddi reported that Ibn `Abbas, Ibn Mas`ud and several other Companions of the Messenger of Allah said that,
(and leaves them increasing) means, He gives them respite. Also, Mujahid said, "He (causes their deviation) to increase.'' Allah said;
(Do they think that by the wealth and the children with which We augment them. (That) We hasten to give them with good things. Nay, but they perceive not.) (23:55-56).
Ibn Jarir commented, "The correct meaning of this Ayah is `We give them increase from the view of giving them respite and leaving them in their deviation and rebellion.' Similarly, Allah said,
(And We shall turn their hearts and their eyes away (from guidance), as they refused to believe in it the first time, and We shall leave them in their trespass to wander blindly). '' (6:110).
Tughyan used in this Ayah means to transgress the limits, just as Allah said in another Ayah,
(Verily, when the water Tagha (rose) beyond its limits, We carried you in the ship) (69:11).
Also, Ibn Jarir said that the term `Amah, in the Ayah means, `deviation'. He also said about Allah's statement,
(in their deviation to wander), "In the misguidance and disbelief that has encompassed them, causing them to be confused and unable to find a way out of it. This is because Allah has stamped their hearts, sealed them, and blinded their vision. Therefore, they do not recognize guidance or find the way out of their deviation.''
(16. These are they who have purchased error with guidance, so their commerce was profitless. And they were not guided.)
In his Tafsir, As-Suddi reported that Ibn `Abbas and Ibn Mas`ud commented on;
(These are they who have purchased error with guidance) saying it means, "They pursued misguidance and abandoned guidance. '' Mujahid said, "They believed and then disbelieved,'' while Qatadah said, "They preferred deviation to guidance.'' Qatadah's statement is similar in meaning to Allah's statement about Thamud,
(And as for Thamud, We granted them guidance, but they preferred blindness to guidance) (41:17).
In summary, the statements that we have mentioned from the scholars of Tafsir indicate that the hypocrites deviate from the true guidance and prefer misguidance, substituting wickedness in place of righteousness. This meaning explains Allah's statement,
(These are they who have purchased error with guidance), meaning, they exchanged guidance to buy misguidance. This meaning includes those who first believed, then later disbelieved, whom Allah described,
(That is because they believed, and then disbelieved; therefore their hearts are sealed) (63:3).
The Ayah also includes those who preferred deviation over guidance. The hypocrites fall into several categories. This is why Allah said,
(So their commerce was profitless. And they were not guided), meaning their trade did not succeed nor were they righteous or rightly guided throughout all this. In addition, Ibn Jarir narrated that Qatadah commented on the Ayah,
(So their commerce was profitless. And they were not guided), "By Allah! I have seen them leaving guidance for deviation, leaving the Jama`ah (the community of the believers) for the sects, leaving safety for fear, and the Sunnah for innovation.'' Ibn Abi Hatim also reported other similar statements.
(17. Their likeness is as the likeness of one who kindled a fire; then, when it illuminated all around him, Allah removed their light and left them in darkness. (So) they could not see). (18. They are deaf, dumb, and blind, so they return not (to the right path).)

7."Who hath spread the earth as a bed for you and the heaven as a covering." (2: 20.)
This is a Quranic claim and science has not gone that far to say anything on it. The writer makes fun of this verse whereas he has no proof to the contrary. Isn’t that funny?

Stones for unbelievers

8. "If ye be in doubt concerning the revelation which we have send down into our servant, produce a chapter like unto it and call your witnesses, beside God, if ye say truth. But if ye do it not, nor shall ever be able to do it, justly fear the fire whose fuel is men, and stones prepared for the unbelievers." (2:21, 22)

The writer has argued that Maulvi Fiazi did make a Quran like it. This is a claim that shows lack of knowledge of the Quran. Writing something does not make it like it or superior to it:
http://www.quransearch.com/ac20.htm#links
http://www.miraclesofthequran.com/mathematical_index.html
Produce a verse like it!
In this same topic, the writer has argued that the Puranas say that Malechhas are doomed to hell. Malechha refers to foreigners and in that particular case it refers to some foreigners in general and not in particular. Prati Sarag Parv III Khand 3 Adhay 3 Shloka 5 to 8 refer to a Malechha as the pride of mankind. From that we see that the context is different.

The paradise of Islam is no better than this world

The writer here argues that the Muslims will receive things similar to what is available in this world. The only difference would be that there would be no death at all. This appears to be a logical claim but only if one has no knowledge or quotes out of context. The rules of context have been explained in the Introduction.

http://www.harunyahya.com/paradise01.php
The link above gives excellent details, Masha’Allah. It is pointless to copy/paste it here as it would make the article even further lengthy and maybe less interesting for the readers. Where answers have already been made, they will be posted as links.

Deceiving angels to impress them of his (Allah’s) greatness

The accuser has quoted this verse for his claims in this topic,
"And he taught Adam the names of all things, and then propose them to the angels, and said, "Declare unto me the names of these things if ye say truth." God said, "O Adam, tell them their names" and when he had told them their names, God said, "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth and know that which ye discover, and that which ye conceal."

This is again the false interpretation of the writer. Allah showed the Angels what He wanted and answered their earlier question about the creation of man. Allah had told them that He knows what they don’t know and this was shown to the Angels through an example. If one wants to find a fault in everything, then there is definitely some problem with the faultfinder. In his introduction, he appeals to the readers to be open-minded and knowledge seeking but this is deliberate misinformation from his part.

Allah was not Omniscient

This section is the most useless and not worth replying at all. It is a fundamental belief of Islam that everything is a test from Allah. Here the writer alleges that Allah did not know about past, present or future and creating Satan turned out to be a mistake which He did not know about in advance. Such a claim shows only ignorance of Islamic beliefs. The life is a test for the hereafter and everything is by the will of Allah. Anything we might not like is a test from Allah and each person is given a test according to his or her own power.

[002:286] Allah does not burden any soul beyond its endurance. For it is what it earns, and against it is what it commits. “Our Lord, do not condemn us for what we forget, or err. Our Lord, do not levy upon us the (kind of) burden You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, do not impose upon us a burden that is greater than our strength to withstand. Pardon us, grant us forgiveness, and have mercy on us. You are our Protector! Grant us victory over the nation of unbelievers!

Allah not free from prejudice

"Dread the day wherein one soul shall not make satisfaction for another soul, neither shall any intercession be accepted from them, nor shall any compensation be received, neither shall they be helped." (2: 48)
Quoting this verse, the writer argues about the Muslim belief that The Prophet would intercede for them on the day of judgment. The answer is simple and in the introduction of this article. The rules of context has the answer for it. Many a times we see repetition in the Quran. Upon a closer look, we see that there is no complete repetition and each time something is repeated, there is new information with it as well. This is the style of the Quran and when we see this same message being repeated, we see that there is no problem at all. The writer should have consulted a knowledgeable Muslim before writing this chapter of his book.
[053:026] There are many angels in the heavens. But their intercessions would not help anyone a bit, unless Allah allows such specific mediation in favor of whomever He wills, and pleases.
[020:109] On that Day shall no intercession avail except for those for whom permission has been granted by (God) Most Gracious and whose word is acceptable to Him.

The Quran is meaningless is the book was already given to Moses

This claim makes one feel sorry for the writer of the book to which this article is a refutation. First of all, the book given to Moses was not the Quran. Secondly, people need guidance and they were given in that book. No law before the Quran was so flexible and suitable that it suited all mankind for all times. The people also did not have sufficient level to accept or grasp the high message of the Quran. The writer has forgotten to mention the fact that Quran states that the previous books are now corrupt and Quran has been sent to bring mankind back to the true path. One of the reason for sending the Quran was to bring mankind back to the true path.
Again, this is a very long debate that goes on between Christians and Muslims and to know more about this, please visit:

One must get some knowledge before making big claims otherwise his foolishness embarrasses himself later on.

Example of the apes:
http://www.answering-christianity.com/dna_of_humans_pigs_monkeys_is_similar.htm
The writer lived in a time when evolution as a concept was alive. He seems to have been unaware of it!

If dead were raised in the past, why not now?

Each Prophet brought miracles with him. Just claiming Prophethood was simply not enough. People back then were not as advanced as us in terms of man-made technology and their knowledge was also not as vast as that of today. Miracles were a common thing those days. Today is the era of science and technology and one doesn’t need miracles like those to realize the truth. According to University of Chicago, 300-400 people are becoming Muslim every single day in the USA alone. They do not need to see dead being raised to convince themselves. These people are just reading the Quran and getting amazed at its beauty. Back then, people would have questioned some amazing scientific miracles in the Quran and therefore miracles were a common thing back then.

Was Allah sitting idle before creation?

In this section, the writer just gives his own personal views. He has his views and I will let him have them. He says that paradise or hell forever is senseless as the soul is finite. These are his views and I will not comment on them as they are not scripture backed but are just personal feelings.
What God was doing before the Creation is not a matter of concern. Due to our limited knowledge and limited scientific advancements, we cannot say anything on this matter. Personal views should not be used to make conclusions. As we have seen earlier that the writer’s personal views have turned out to be wrong, we might as well ignore them altogether.

The Quran, a mere echo of the Bible

The writer, in different words, is repeating this claim.
http://www.answering-christianity.com/bible_quran_differences.htm
In this topic, the writer states that God made a covenant with the people with the old books and says that making covenants is a human quality and cannot be attributed to God. Again, this is a personal view. In everyday life, people swear by God and effectively, this is a covenant that one must fulfill. God made covenant for the sake of the people, for the betterment of the people and ultimately, it will be of benefit of the people if it is applied. Human beings must be thankful to God for that rather than making fun of what God does or does not do.

Allah jealous and malevolent?

"These are they who purchase this present life at the price of that which is to come: their torment shall not be lightened, neither shall be helped." (2: 80.)
For a better understanding of this verse, the context must be seen.
[002:079] Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:"This is from God," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.
[002:080] And they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days:" Say: "Have ye taken a promise from God, for He never breaks His promise? or is it that ye say of God what ye do not know?"
[002:081] Nay, those who seek gain in evil, and are girt round by their sins,- they are companions of the Fire: Therein shall they abide (For ever).

Purchasing this life here refers to what has been explained in the verses above and not what the writer argues. This is simple common sense. This is the most basic rule of reading in context and breaking this rule indicates either complete stupidity or deliberate trickery.

All things that are a breach to the laws of nature are false

This is also the opinion of the writer. The question arises as to who will decide what the laws of nature are? Is science the criteria or our human senses? Has science gone that far to explain everything? Are our senses that developed to know everything through observation?
In this section, the writer makes the same claim of miracles not existing today:
The writer makes the same point about Muslims to believe in the Bible:
www.answering-christianity.com
The writer ends this section with a criticism of calling non-Muslims as infidels and argues that everyone is an infidel to each other and this belief is completely false. The truth, however, is that this opinion of the writer is completely false. If there is God, then He must have a way for the people. An electronic equipment has a manual that explains how to use it. Our Creator has given us a manual which shows us how to do, what to do etc. Furthermore, if a person abuses his parents and keeps doing so, they will either kick him out of the house or will beat him or maybe some other sort of punishment. Here we are talking about our Creator who is above all. Belief in Him is a must and to say that one’s own way or self-made way is the way to the Creator is blasphemy.

What kind of God would have enemies?

The writer says that the Quran states that whoever is an enemy to others is an enemy of God. He says that this is incorrect as God is not the enemy to anyone. This is the writer’s own opinion which is not backed up by any proof. The problem here is very simple. The writer puts himself in the opposition camp when he makes judgments. For example, if it is mentioned that a thief’s hand should be cut off, people might appreciate this law but those who put themselves in the position of the thief will definitely criticize it. One must put himself in the correct position and then see the clearer, much better and bigger picture. Only then would one be open-minded and open to positive criticism, as the writer wants us to be.
In this same section, the writer criticizes the fact that repentance leads to forgiveness from God. He says that this shows an easy path to the sinners. This just shows the double standards applied by the writer. On one hand he criticizes punishment to sinners and here he even criticizes repentance. The simple answer for this is that God has infinite knowledge and He knows whether our repentance is genuine or not. God knows what is inside our heart when we do not even know what is in our own hearts.
[004:031] If you stay away from the major sins you have been asked to avoid, We will rid you of your minor sins and offenses. We will usher you past the threshold (of paradise) with eminence and honor.
In this section, the writer again criticizes the miracles by God through the Prophets mentioned in the Quran. If there is God who has the power to do as He wills, then miracles are no problem at all.
The writer also makes fun of the verse that God will show His mercy to whom He wills. It is very surprising that the accuser makes fun of everything, one wonders as to what he does not make fun of. This verse clearly means that one must not become over confident of oneself because whatever is our future is in the hands of God. This verse protects us from pride and sinfulness. Only people who think understand such messages.
The writer has quoted the following:
"People may not, out of malice, try to turn you away from your religion, for there are among them many a friend of the faithful." (2:101.)
This is very surprising. The verse reads as follows:
Yusuf Ali:
[002:101] And when there came to them an apostle from God, confirming what was with them, a party of the people of the Book threw away the Book of God behind their backs, as if (it had been something) they did not know!
Dr. Munir Munshey (one of www.answering-christianity.com's authors):
[002:101] And now, there has come to them a messenger from Allah who has confirmed that which they already have with them. Yet, some of those who were given the scriptures (earlier) toss the book of Allah behind their backs. (They act) as if they know nothing!

One wonders at the source of the translation used by the writer! If he had mentioned it, it would have been good for him!

If Allah is in every direction why Muslims face only Mecca?

The first thing that needs to cleared is that Muslims believe that Allah is above the heavens and His knowledge is everywhere.
The writer has written the following in this topic:
If this is true, why do the Mohammedans turn their face towards Qibla (i.e., the
sacred Mosque at Mecca)?
For the meaning of Qibla, he writes the sacred mosque at Mecca. If he had translated it correctly, there would have been no problem at all. The meaning of Qibla is direction and Muslims face in that direction for the purposes of unity. From this argument, it appears that this book by the writer is only for non-Muslims as the allegations are very childish. The purpose was either to serve as a block for those Hindus interested in Islam or to make money from it or to have fame or all of them.

Out of nothing, nothing can come

This section is very interesting! It has a copied argument from ancient Greek atheists. Those atheists used to go to God believers and ask them if God can do everything to which they replied in the positive. They then asked whether God can make a huge rock, so big that nothing can move it and the reply was in positive. Finally, they asked even God cannot lift it? The God believers had no answers for that because if God cannot move it, then the former argument turns false otherwise the latter. The writer has copied the same argument. The Muslim reply is that God does what He wills. The writer has then asked if God can create another God. The answer remains the same! God can do whatever He wills and He will not will such a thing. The writer is applying some sort of crazy psychology which only shows desperation considering the low knowledge he has of religion and of matters around him as proven by the evolution point above.
The writer states that the reason in the Quran for creation is absurd as there needs to be a cause of creation. The Islamic answer is that the reason is God Himself.
Allah Almighty said: "Then He turned to the heaven when it was smoke...(The Noble Quran, 41:11)"
Have not those who disbelieved known that the heavens and the earth were one connected entity, then We separated them?... (Quran, 21:30)

Were there no places sacred before Kaaba?

The writer has a very annoying habit to get into things that are not touched at all. Kaaba indeed was the first sacred place on earth which was rebuilt by Prophet Abraham and his son Prophet Ismail (peace be upon them both). It was already built but was further built and repaired by them.
As per the writer, what if someone doesn’t like the faith of Abraham? The answer to that question is that there is definitely some problem with the one who doesn’t like that faith. If one likes the man-made false beliefs, then there is definitely some serious problem.
Why was Abraham chosen for this?
Quran calls him as KhalilUllah (a friend of Allah) and he was of exceptional character. He even had immense pity for the big sinners that were to be destroyed by God. He had immense knowledge even as a child and God chose Him for this reason and other reason that God knows best.
The writer even has problems with the reason why God chose Abraham. He says that if it was due to being religious, then there were other religious people as well. This is an absurd claim and one that shows ill-knowledge. Prophets are people chosen by God to spread the message of God, to bring mankind back to the path of God and act as an example. If God had sent Angels, then people would have argued that the religion is very difficult as Angels are different from humans. If God had sent a book directly from the sky, people would have different in terms of its interpretation and practicalities. Therefore, God sends a human being who is like others in terms of the human needs such as eating, sleeping etc. Prophets are the best of people and human beings cannot argue on interpretations as Prophets are walking examples and interpretations of the message they bring.
The Ka`bah is the First House of Worship
Allah said,
(Verily, the first House appointed for mankind) for all people, for their acts of worship and religious rituals. They go around the House [in Tawaf], pray in its vicinity and remain in its area in I`tikaf.
(was that at Bakkah,) meaning, the Ka`bah that was built by Ibrahim Al-Khalil, whose religion the Jews and Christians claim they follow. However, they do not perform Hajj to the house that Ibrahim built by Allah's command, and to which he invited the people to perform Hajj. Allah said next, i
(full of blessing), sanctified,
(and a guidance for Al-`Alamin.)
Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Dharr said; "I said, `O Allah's Messenger! Which Masjid was the first to be built on the surface of the earth' He said, `Al-Masjid Al-Haram (in Makkah).' I said, `Which was built next' He replied `Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem).' I said, `What was the period of time between building the two' He said, `Forty years.' He added,
«ثُمَّ حَيْثُ أَدْرَكْتَ الصَّلَاةَ فَصَلِّ، فَكُلُّهَا مَسْجِد»
(Wherever (you may be, and) the prayer becomes due, perform the prayer there, for the whole earth was made a Masjid.)'' Al-Bukhari and Muslim also collected this Hadith.

Muslims, idol worshippers?

Kaaba is the Qibla i.e. the direction Muslims face during their prayers. It is important to note that though Muslims face the Kaaba during prayers, they do not worship the Kaaba. Muslims worship and bow to none but Allah.
It is mentioned in Surah Baqarah:
"We see the turning of thy face (for guidance) to the heavens: now shall We turn thee to a Qiblah that shall please thee. Turn then thy face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque: wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction."
[Al-Qur’an 2:144]

1. Islam believes in fostering unity
For instance, if Muslims want to offer Salaah (Prayer), it is possible that some may wish to face north, while some may wish to face south. In order to unite Muslims in their worship of the One True God, Muslims, wherever they may be, are asked to face in only one direction i.e. towards the Kaaba. If some Muslims live towards the west of the Kaaba they face the east. Similarly if they live towards the east of the Kaaba they face the west.

2. Kaaba is at the Centre of the World Map
The Muslims were the first people to draw the map of the world. They drew the map with the south facing upwards and north downwards. The Kaaba was at the centre. Later, western cartographers drew the map upside down with the north facing upwards and south downwards. Yet, Alhamdullilah the Kaaba is at the centre of the world map.

3. Tawaaf around Kaaba for indicating one God
When the Muslims go to Masjid-e-Haram in Makkah, they perform tawaaf or circumambulation round the Kaaba. This act symbolizes the belief and worship of One God, since, just as every circle has one centre, so also there is only one Allah (swt) worthy of worship.

4. Hadith of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)
Regarding the black stone, hajr-e-aswad, there is a hadith (tradition), attributed to the illustrious companion of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).
According to Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, book of Hajj, chapter 56, H.No. 675. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (pbuh) touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you".

5. People stood on Kaaba and gave the adhaan
At the time of the Prophet, people even stood on the Kaaba and gave the ‘adhaan’ or the call to prayer. One may ask those who allege that Muslims worship the Kaaba; which idol worshipper stands on the idol he worships?

Slaying non-muslims and innocent animals to be on Allah’s path

The writer goes on to criticize the Muslims for killing animals.

He says that the Quran is intolerant towards non-Muslims and animals. The part on animals has been answered above in the video link and the part on intolerance towards non-Muslims will be answered below.

Muslims are even prohibited to say anything wrong against the gods of others;
“Do not revile those whom they call upon besides God, lest they revile God out of spite in their ignorance. Thus, We have made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord and He shall then tell them the truth of what they did.” (Quran 6:108)

In this very point, the writer has made several unnecessary points. Each will be answered Insha’Allah.
The writer criticizes the martyrs and says that God does not want people to kill and get killed. This is a very low level of thinking. God has made this words a test for the hereafter and fighting fear of death is a great test. Fighting is only against evil and is a test by God.
God will punish both non-Muslims and those who claim to be Muslims. There is no such thing as free salvation in Islam. The accuser has asked this question in this topic. This clearly shows some problems with the writer. If he has read the Quran, he must already know the answer, yet he criticizes for the sake of writing a book! The writer also says that if both can be punished, then there is no need for Quran and Prophet Muhammad (saw). The same can be said about his own book but as a Muslim, I will give the Islamic response for this claim. Quran is a light, guidance and message directly from God. If a person is separated from his mother for a long time and she writes a letter to the offspring, the child would hurry to read it. If she wants him/her to do something, he/she would do it with happiness. For the Quran it is much bigger than that. It is not just the message from God but also a way that God wants us to follow.
This way is the only way!
Why was Satan created?

Who tempted Satan?
Everything that tempts is not by Satan. Every year in Ramadan, Allah locks Satan but still we see evil. What we see is the person’s own desires and deeds for which there is no outside influence. It is one’s own practiced nature that was not created this way by God but has turned into like this by excessive sinning of the people. Human beings and Jinns have free will and it was this free will that Satan exercised. On the day of judgment, we will be accountable for the decisions we make.

The writer in his book said,

Now one should pause to think and realize that an animal whether it dies a
natural death or is put to death, is a dead body all the same;

This is not true as far as Islamic way is concerned. The way of sacrifice in Islam is called Zabeeha and required the cutting of the neck without the spinal cord being cut off. This method allows the blood to clear from the body which is a source of many illnesses through germs. The writer makes silly points such as asking whether eating human flesh is allowed. He must read the entire Quran for the answer. A list is given and a criteria is set for the kind of animals that can be eaten.

Fasting copied from Hinduism

This is one of the most absurd claims in this article. The question in return is that who did the Hindus copy it from? More questions arise, why don’t Hindus fast today? Why is their very limited fasting so much different from Muslims such as having fruit and vegetables fasting, water fasting etc?

[002:183] Oh you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you just as it was prescribed for those before you. Perhaps you would attain piety!

[002:184] (Fasting is obligatory for) a certain number of specified days. But if any of you is sick or on a journey, then the same number of other days (may be substituted). The one who suffers hardship (because of fasting) may (redeem himself and) feed a needy person. If he, of his own accord, does better (and feeds more than one person), then he would do so for his own good. However, it is much better for you to fast, if you only knew!

[002:185] Ramadhan is the month during which the Qur’an was revealed. It is (not only) the guidance for mankind, (but is also) the self-evident proof of (the truth of) that guidance, and (it is) the criterion (of the right and the wrong conduct). Whoever among you lives to see that month, must observe fasts (during that month). Whoever among you is sick or on a journey, (must fast) the same number of other days. Allah wants to make matters easy for you; He does not want to impose hardships on you. So complete the period (of fasting). Glorify Allah (and thank Him) for the guidance He has granted. Perhaps, you would be grateful!

[002:187] It is permissible for you to approach your wives (sexually) during the night of the fasting (day). They are (like) your garments _ (close to you: they clothe your nakedness, and your passions) _ and you are (like) their garments. Of course, Allah knows that you (had succumbed to desire and) were cheating yourself (by engaging in sexual activity during the nights of fasting). He has accepted your repentance and has pardoned you. Now, you may have (social and sexual) relations with your wives (during the night of fasting). Seek from their company that _ (peace and progeny) _ which Allah has ordained for you. (You may) eat and drink until the white streak (of dawn) becomes visible (on the horizon) against the darkness. Thereafter, complete the fast till nightfall. Do not have (sexual) contact with your wives when you confine yourself in a mosque (to worship). These are the bounds of Allah. Do not approach them (much less exceed them). Thus, Allah makes His revelations manifestly clear for mankind. Perhaps, you would fear (Allah) and attain piety!

[002:196] Carry out and conclude (the rites of) Hajj _ (the pilgrimage), or the ‘umrah’ _ (the visit); do so for the sake of Allah. If you are held back (by circumstances), then make an offering you can afford with ease. Do not shave off your head (the last of the rituals of Hajj or Umrah) till the offering has reached its destination. The one who is sick, or suffers from an affliction of the scalp, may redeem himself by fasting, giving alms, or making an offering. When you are safe (and in Makkah), and anyone wishes to perform the ‘umrah’ before (it is time for) Hajj, he should make an offering he can afford with ease. But if he cannot afford to make an offering, he should fast three days during Hajj, and seven days when he returns (home). That makes ten days of fasting in all. This applies to the one whose family is not present at the Holy house of worship. Fear Allah, and know (for sure) that Allah is indeed very severe in (inflicting) punishment.

[005:095] Oh you who believe! Do not kill (or hunt) a game animal while you are in a state of ‘Ihram’ _ (the attire of pilgrimage). The penance for anyone of you who hunts (during ‘Ihram’) is an offering at the Kaaba similar to what was killed _ as judged by two just men among you. The atonement (for that act) is the feeding of the poor, or fasting for an equivalent number of days, so he may taste the consequence of his evil act. Allah forgives whatever has happened in the past, but He will exact retribution if anyone repeats (the offense). Allah is the most Powerful; He is the Lord of Revenge!

[066:005] In case the prophet divorces you all, his Lord would perhaps grant him other wives _ widows or maidens, in your place. They would be better than you, more obedient, believing, pious, penitent and fond of fasting!

From the above verses, a question arises; how is it similar to the very limited or almost non-existent Hindu fasting system?

Losing political supremacy in their fight for cause for Allah

"And fight for the cause of God against those who fight against you. And kill them wherever ye shall find them; and eject them from whatever place they ejected you! For civil discord is worse than courage. Fight therefore against them until there be no more civil discord." (2: 186, 187, 189.)
The writer has criticized these verses without much knowledge. Insha’Allah, I will give some information below:
Fighting in the Sacred Area is prohibited, except in Self-Defense
Allah said:
(And fight not with them at Al-Masjid Al-Haram (the sanctuary at Makkah))
It is reported in the Two Sahihs that the Prophet said:
(Allah has made this city a sanctuary since the day He created the heavens and the earth. So, it is a sanctuary by Allah's decree till the Day of Resurrection. Fighting in it was made legal for me only for an hour in the daytime. So, it (i.e., Makkah) is a sanctuary, by Allah's decree, from now on until the Day of Resurrection. Its trees should not be cut, and its grass should not be uprooted. If anyone mentions the fighting in it that occurred by Allah's Messenger, then say that Allah allowed His Messenger, but did not allow you.)
In this Hadith, Allah's Messenger mentions fighting the people of Makkah when he conquered it by force, leading to some deaths among the polytheists in the area of the Khandamah. This occurred after the Prophet proclaimed:
«مَنْ أَغْلَقَ بَابَهُ فهُوَ آمِنٌ،وَمَنْ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَهُو آمِنٌ، ومَنْ دَخَلَ دَارَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فَهُوَ آمِن»
(Whoever closed his door is safe. Whoever entered the (Sacred) Mosque is safe. Whoever entered the house of Abu Sufyan is also safe.)
Allah said:
(...unless they (first) fight you there. But if they attack you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.)
Allah states: `Do not fight them in the area of the Sacred Mosque unless they start fighting you in it. In this case, you are allowed to fight them and kill them to stop their aggression.' Hence, Allah's Messenger took the pledge from his Companions under the tree (in the area of Al-Hudaybiyyah) to fight (the polytheists), after the tribes of Quraysh and their allies, Thaqif and other groups, collaborated against the Muslims (to stop them from entering Makkah to visit the Sacred House). Then, Allah stopped the fighting before it started between them and said:
[وَهُوَ الَّذِى كَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ عَنْهُم بِبَطْنِ مَكَّةَ مِن بَعْدِ أَنْ أَظْفَرَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ]
(And He it is Who has withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the midst of Makkah, after He had made you victors over them.) (48:24) and:
(Had there not been believing men and believing women whom you did not know, that you may kill them and on whose account a sin would have been committed by you without (your) knowledge, that Allah might bring into His mercy whom He wills ـ if they (the believers and the disbelievers) had been apart, We verily, would have punished those of them who disbelieved with painful torment.) (48:25)
Allah's statement:
(But if they cease, then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.) which means, `If they (polytheists) cease fighting you in the Sacred Area, and come to Islam and repent, then Allah will forgive them their sins, even if they had before killed Muslims in Allah's Sacred Area.' Indeed, Allah's forgiveness encompasses every sin, whatever its enormity, when the sinner repents it.

The Order to fight until there is no more Fitnah
Allah then commanded fighting the disbelievers when He said:
[حَتَّى لاَ تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ]
(...until there is no more Fitnah) meaning, Shirk. This is the opinion of Ibn `Abbas, Abu Al-`Aliyah, Mujahid, Al-Hasan, Qatadah, Ar-Rabi`, Muqatil bin Hayyan, As-Suddi and Zayd bin Aslam.
Allah's statement:
(...and the religion (all and every kind of worship) is for Allah (Alone).) means, `So that the religion of Allah becomes dominant above all other religions.' It is reported in the Two Sahihs that Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari said: "The Prophet was asked, `O Allah's Messenger! A man fights out of bravery, and another fights to show off, which of them fights in the cause of Allah' The Prophet said:
«مَنْ قَاتَلَ لِتَكُونَ كَلِمَةُ اللهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيا فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ الله»
(He who fights so that Allah's Word is superior, then he fights in Allah's cause.) In addition, it is reported in the Two Sahihs:
«أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لَا إِلهَ إلَّا اللهُ، فَإِذَا قَالُوهَا عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُم وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إلَّا بِحَقِّهَا وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى الله»
(I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight the people until they proclaim, `None has the right to be worshipped but Allah'. Whoever said it, then he will save his life and property from me, except for cases of the law, and their account will be with Allah.)
Allah's statement:
(But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against the wrongdoers.) indicates that, `If they stop their Shirk and fighting the believers, then cease warfare against them. Whoever fights them afterwards will be committing an injustice. Verily aggression can only be started against the unjust.' This is the meaning of Mujahid's statement that only combatants should be fought. Or, the meaning of the Ayah indicates that, `If they abandon their injustice, which is Shirk in this case, then do not start aggression against them afterwards.' The aggression here means retaliating and fighting them, just as Allah said:
[فَمَنِ اعْتَدَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاعْتَدُواْ عَلَيْهِ بِمِثْلِ مَا اعْتَدَى عَلَيْكُمْ]
(Then whoever transgresses against you, you transgress likewise against him.) (2:194)
Similarly, Allah said:
(The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof.) (42:40), and:
(And if you punish them, then punish them with the like of that with which you were afflicted. ) (16:126)
`Ikrimah and Qatadah stated, "The unjust person is he who refuses to proclaim, `There is no God worthy of worship except Allah'.''
Under Allah's statement:
[وَقَـتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لاَ تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ]
(And fight them until there is no more Fitnah) Al-Bukhari recorded that Nafi` said that two men came to Ibn `Umar during the conflict of Ibn Az-Zubayr and said to him, "The people have fallen into shortcomings and you are the son of `Umar and the Prophet's Companion. Hence, what prevents you from going out'' He said, "What prevents me is that Allah has for bidden shedding the blood of my (Muslim) brother.'' They said, "Did not Allah say:
[وَقَـتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لاَ تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ]
(And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah))'' He said, "We did fight until there was no more Fitnah and the religion became for Allah Alone. You want to fight until there is Fitnah and the religion becomes for other than Allah!''
`Uthman bin Salih added that a man came to Ibn `Umar and asked him, "O Abu `Abdur-Rahman! What made you perform Hajj one year and `Umrah another year and abandon Jihad in the cause of Allah, although you know how much He has encouraged performing it'' He said, "O my nephew! Islam is built on five (pillars): believing in Allah and His Messenger, the five daily prayers, fasting Ramadan, paying the Zakah and performing Hajj (pilgrimage) to the House.'' They said, "O Abu `Abdur-Rahman! Did you not hear what Allah said in His Book:
[وَإِن طَآئِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُواْ فَأَصْلِحُواْ بَيْنَهُمَا فَإِن بَغَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الأُخْرَى فَقَـتِلُواْ الَّتِى تَبْغِى حَتَّى تَفِىءَ إِلَى أَمْرِ اللَّهِ]
(And if two parties (or groups) among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both. But if one of them outrages against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which outrages till it complies with the command of Allah.) (49:9) and:
(And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief))
He said, "That we did during the time of Allah's Messenger when Islam was still weak and (the Muslim) man used to face trials in his religion, such as killing or torture. When Islam became stronger (and apparent), there was no more Fitnah.'' He asked, "What do you say about `Ali and `Uthman'' He said, "As for `Uthman, Allah has forgiven him. However, you hated the fact that Allah had forgiven him! As for `Ali, he is the cousin of Allah's Messenger and his son-in-law.'' He then pointed with his hand, saying, "This is where his house is located (meaning, `so close to the Prophet's house just as `Ali was so close to the Prophet himself').''
(194. The sacred month is for the sacred month, and for the prohibited things, there is the Law of equality (Qisas). Then whoever transgresses against you, you transgress likewise against him. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is with Al-Muttaqin.)

The Command to fight Those Who fight Muslims and killing Them wherever They are found
Abu Ja`far Ar-Razi said that Ar-Rabi` bin Anas said that Abu Al-`Aliyah commented on what Allah said:
[وَقَـتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ]
(And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you,)
Abu Al-`Aliyah said, "This was the first Ayah about fighting that was revealed in Al-Madinah. Ever since it was revealed, Allah's Messenger used to fight only those who fought him and avoid non-combatants. Later, Surat Bara'ah (chapter 9 in the Qur'an) was revealed.'' `Abdur-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam said similarly, then he said that this was later abrogated by the Ayah:
[فَاقْتُلُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ]
(then kill them wherever you find them) (9:5).
However, this statement is not plausible, because Allah's statement:
[الَّذِينَ يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ]
(...those who fight you) applies only to fighting the enemies who are engaged in fighting Islam and its people. So the Ayah means, `Fight those who fight you', just as Allah said (in another Ayah):
[وَقَاتِلُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَآفَّةً كَمَا يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ كَآفَّةً]
(...and fight against the Mushrikin collectively as they fight against you collectively.) (9:36)
This is why Allah said later in the Ayah:
[وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِّنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ]
(And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.) meaning, `Your energy should be spent on fighting them, just as their energy is spent on fighting you, and on expelling them from the areas from which they have expelled you, as a law of equality in punishment.'
Anything other than the accepted interpretation is just the opinion of the writer and his inference in most cases has turned out to be wrong.

The writer says,
God is Bounteous without measure to whom He will." (2:208.)
C. ~ Does He show His bounty without paying any regard to our good or evil deeds?
This statement requires no explanation. It is a pity that he does not understand simple commands and interprets them in such an absurd way that one feels pity at him.
